Two thirds of the UK residents surveyed do not want to stand up for their country in the event of an attack on it. This is evidenced by the survey data released on August 30, which is published by The Sunday Express.

"Three out of five Britons would not fight for Britain if the country was attacked. <...> The figures show that in each age group, the majority of respondents stated that they "don't really want" or "don't want at all" to serve," the publication says.

It is specified that 52% of respondents aged 18 to 24 years and 51% of survey participants aged 25 to 34 years do not plan to go to service.

In addition, 64% of respondents expressed their unwillingness to join the ranks of the British army in case the country is attacked, and another 6% noted their uncertainty about this issue.
