Applications for the Guiding Star Tourism Award have been accepted in Moscow
Applications for the Guiding Star, the Moscow government's tourism award, have been accepted in the capital. This award recognizes the best projects and organizations in the urban hospitality sector, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.
"This year, the list of nominations has been expanded — 18 new ones have been added. Now the award covers even more significant areas for the industry. For example, it will determine the best public space, a souvenir shop and a festival site for the first time," Sergunina said.
Coffee shops and grocery stores located near attractions can participate in the "Gastronomy and Shopping" category.
In the Culture and Entertainment category, not only the best places to relax with children and mass sports events will be appreciated, but also evening shows, cinemas and theaters.
The directions "Public spaces and urban environment" and "People and personnel" have also appeared.
There are 36 nominations in total: the winners in 23 main categories will be selected by the competition commission, which will include representatives of relevant departments and organizations, and the expert council, consisting of leading market players, will select 13 special ones. Two more laureates will be selected by the Metropolitan Tourism Committee.
For the first time, special prizes will be awarded, in particular, to the best inclusive projects, Moscow industry media and a cultural heritage site after restoration.
The jury will evaluate the contribution to the development of the capital's tourism for the period from August 31, 2024 to August 31, 2025.
To participate in the contest, you need to fill out the form on the portal "Russpass. Business" until September 30th. The results will be announced in December.
