Putin pointed to the lack of intrigue and bias at the Eurasian Film Awards
The Eurasian Film Awards are a platform where there will be no place for intrigue and political bias. This was announced on July 30 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with the Xinhua news agency.
"We have launched a new project, the Open Eurasian Film Award. This is a unique film platform where there is no place for bias or any political intrigue," the text of the interview published on the Kremlin's website says.
Putin recalled that in May of this year in Moscow, the parties signed an action plan for film production, which in the future will allow the production of "many good Russian-Chinese films" and bring to the viewer the right moral guidelines and tell the truth about key historical events.
The Russian President added that the film "Red Silk" will be released in the People's Republic of China (PRC) in the near future.
On March 22, Russian film director and actor Nikita Mikhalkov, in an interview with Izvestia, noted that the Oscar "has ceased to have real value due to excessive politicization. This, he said, was one of the reasons for the establishment of his own film award.
Olga Lyubimova, in an interview with Izvestia on May 8, called the Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" the first large-scale blockbuster co-production and a "breakthrough" in cultural exchange between the states.
Later, on August 29, it became known that this film became a hit at the SCO Film Week. In addition, "Red Silk" is the highest-grossing film of the year in Russia.
The premiere of the Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" will take place on September 4 at the main cinema of China Film Group, and on September 6 the film will be released in China.
