The oldest madrasah in Europe in the village of Tsakhur in the Rutul district of Dagestan was damaged by an earthquake. This was announced by the muftiate of the region on August 28.

"The building of the historic Nizamiya madrasah in the village of Tsakhur in our republic was damaged due to the earthquake on Tuesday. Many cracks have formed. This is the oldest madrasah in Europe, this year the educational institution turned 950 years old," RIA Novosti reports.
