According to the results of seven months of 2025, the most common traffic violation on Moscow roads is speeding. Its share immediately amounted to 53% of all violations (11.4 million cases), the Department of Transport of the capital announced in its Telegram channel on August 29.

This violation most often causes serious accidents, the Department of Transport said. Most often (in 98% of cases) drivers exceed the speed limit by 20-40 km/h.

The second most common violation of road marking requirements is with a share of 14% (3.1 million cases). Most often, this is the intersection of a solid line and the marking of an island.

In 9% of cases (1.9 million violations), drivers neglected important safety requirements, including not wearing a seat belt, driving without low beam headlights, and using a phone while driving. Separately, deptrans identified violations of the requirements of road signs (8%) and the rules of passage of the intersection (3%), others account for a share of 13%.

The department added that 3.8 thousand photo and video fixation complexes have now been installed in Moscow.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Russian Interior Ministry proposed to reduce from 60 days to a day the deadline for paying a fine for violations committed by owners of cars registered in foreign countries. The relevant amendments to Article 32.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation have been published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
