Zakharova pointed to the crossing of the line of the decent in Macron's statements
The statements of French President Emmanuel Macron sometimes cross the line of decent, reasonable and become insults addressed to Russia and its people. This was stated on August 29 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry at a briefing.
"We constantly see some strange statements by the French president regarding Russia. Sometimes they cross the line of not just reasonable, but decent, becoming just some kind of low-grade insults against Russia and its people," she said.
As Zakharova noted, the point is that the situation around Ukraine was also provoked by Macron's predecessors. In addition, she drew attention to the fact that France was an active participant in the Ukrainian coup in 2014.
On August 28, the French portal AgoraVox reported on Macron's attempts to disrupt the conclusion of a peace deal on Ukraine between Russia and the United States. It was noted that the French president intends to convince European countries to further increase defense spending, justifying this allegedly by the threat from Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on August 24 that Russia hopes that Western attempts to interfere with the Ukrainian settlement process will not be successful. According to him, Western countries are trying to disrupt the process that Putin and Trump laid down during the meeting in Alaska.
