Russia will take retaliatory measures if the Czech Republic, at the initiative of the European Union (EU), restricts the freedom of movement of Russian diplomats. This was announced on August 29 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"They're asking for it. They probably want [measures] to be taken in response," she said during a briefing, answering a question from Izvestia.
