The volume of agricultural exports from Russia in 2024 amounted to $45 billion. This was announced on August 29 by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Maritime Board, speaking at the opening of a new volleyball hall at the Olympic Reserve boarding school in St. Petersburg.

"Look, at one time we were limited in the supply of products. Now that the food security doctrine has been adopted, we have not only provided ourselves with everything, we supply a huge amount of products abroad. And last year, our country earned $45 billion due to this work. This is a huge figure," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He also noted that sanctions are a challenge for Russia, which it will successfully overcome. Patrushev also stressed that the Russian economy must become independent "in all directions."

Earlier, on July 22, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that Russia is one of the leaders in grain exports on the market and contributes to strengthening global food security. According to him, in 2024, almost 130 million tons of grain and legumes were harvested.
