Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sent a personal letter to a journalist from the American NBC News channel with a report on war crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), but no clear answers were received from the TV company. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat noted that during Lavrov's August 24 interview, the NBC journalist repeatedly and provocatively referred to alleged violations by the Russian Armed Forces of certain provisions of international humanitarian law during a special military operation.

"The presenter repeatedly and provocatively, interrupting her interlocutor, referred to the unidentified facts of violations by the armed forces, allegedly by Russia during its military operation in Ukraine, of certain provisions of international humanitarian law," she said during a briefing.

Zakharova added that at the same time, no evidence of the alleged incidents, "according to a peculiar established tradition," was presented during the interview.
