The first imported case of chikungunya fever has been identified in Russia

An imported case of chikungunya fever was first recorded in the Russian Federation in 2025, the patient was hospitalized in a moderate condition. This was announced on August 29 by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

"The first imported case of chikungunya fever was detected this year in the Russian Federation. Rospotrebnadzor had previously stated the risks of importing fever from other countries, so the agency's specialists were prepared for this situation. <...> The patient is currently hospitalized in a moderate condition," TASS quoted the ministry as saying.
