A strong flare with a score of M1.0 occurred on the Sun, which qualifies as "strong". This was announced on August 29 by the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"The last outbreak occurred today at 07:16, level M1.0 (strong)," the laboratory's website said.
At the same time, the laboratory's Telegram channel noted that the risks of new strong outbreaks with a high probability of impact on the Earth will remain during the day, but the geomagnetic situation on the planet will be calm.
On August 27, it was reported that one continuous flash had been going on in the Sun for several days. According to scientists, the forecast of solar activity in the near future remains uncertain due to the receipt of conflicting signals from the star.
