The fifth Moscow Fashion Week will cover nine city venues. Among them are the Zaryadye Park Parking Gallery art space, the Zaryadye Moscow Concert Hall, the Artplay Design Center, and others.
The fifth Moscow Fashion Week has begun in Zaryadye Park. It will last until September 2. An extensive entertainment program has been prepared for its guests and participants.
"Moscow Fashion Week will bring together the work of more than 220 brands from different parts of Russia and the rest of the world and will cover nine venues, including the Kitaygorodskaya Wall and the floating bridge of Zaryadye Park. As part of the program, guests and participants will enjoy fashion shows, meetings of Russian and foreign designers, a market of domestic brands, as well as a festival of short films about fashion," said Alexey Fursin, Minister of the Moscow Government and head of the Moscow Department of Culture.
Today, 11 designers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Chelyabinsk are presenting their collections as part of Moscow Fashion Week. The program also includes shows by foreign participants, designers from Armenia and Nicaragua. In total, 10 foreign designers will present their works.
Until September 2, in the art space "Parking Gallery" of Zaryadye Park, participants and guests can visit the market of domestic brands, where more than 65 collections of designers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Simferopol, Ulan-Ude and other cities of Russia will be presented. Guests can not only purchase designer clothes, shoes and accessories, but also personally communicate with the creators of the brands. The designers of the "Made in Moscow" project are also participating in the market. Admission is subject to pre-registration on the event's website.
An international showroom has opened in Moscow's Zaryadye Concert Hall. Meetings of Russian and foreign designers are held here, joint projects and prospects for cooperation are discussed.
Lectures have begun in the lecture hall of Moscow Fashion Week: experts discuss the role of museums and archives in the fashion industry, the cultural codes of classical literature and current trends of the modern era. Alexandra Kaloshina, founder of the textile design studio Solstudio Textile Group and the Radical Chic brand, as well as Alina Burmistrova, PhD in Philology and a journalist, and Elena Baranova, a fashion designer and researcher of the Russian cultural code, share their views. Everyone can attend the lectures that will take place during the Moscow Fashion Week by pre-registration on the event's website. The number of seats is limited.
The World Fashion Shorts short Film festival has received more than 70 applications. On August 30, Muscovites and tourists will be able to watch 40 short fashion films at the Artplay Design Center, which will be shown simultaneously on eight screens in the multimedia hall. More than 1.5 thousand seamstresses and tailors, as well as over two thousand employees of designer brands from more than 250 industries of various types, including factories, ateliers, workshops, worked on the preparation of collections for Moscow Fashion Week in different cities of Russia.
