French President Emmanuel Macron is trying to disrupt the conclusion of a peace deal on Ukraine between Russia and the United States. This was announced on August 28 by the French portal AgoraVox.

"Macron's obsession with Russia is becoming more aggressive every day, to the point of jeopardizing diplomatic peace talks between the United States and Russia. Macron is asserting himself in order to disrupt a peaceful solution," the publication says.

It is noted that Macron intends to convince European countries to further increase defense spending, justifying this by allegedly threatening Russia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on August 24 that Russia hopes that Western attempts to interfere with the Ukrainian settlement process will not be successful. According to him, Western countries are trying to disrupt the process that Putin and Trump laid down during the meeting in Alaska.

The Presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, met in Anchorage on August 15. Following the meeting, the Russian leader noted the desire of his colleague from the United States to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Trump, in turn, shared that the negotiations went very well and called the summit in Alaska wonderful.
