A three-day preventive event "SIM. A cyclist," the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced on its Telegram channel on August 28.

The raid will take place from August 29 to 31. Its purpose is the prevention and prevention of road traffic injuries and the promotion of compliance with traffic regulations by cyclists and persons using personal mobility aids (SIM) for movement.

"Traffic police officers will hold explanatory talks about the basic rules of movement on SIM and bicycles, as well as the use of protective equipment. Traffic inspectors will pay special attention to the safe movement of young road users on scooters and other means of individual mobility," the department noted.

The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate previously noted a decrease in accidents involving SIM. In the first seven months of this year, 442 accidents involving personal mobility equipment were registered on the capital's roads, in which three people were killed and 462 injured. The number of road accidents decreased by 54.9%, and the number of deaths and injuries in such accidents decreased by 70% and 55.1%, respectively.

On August 19, it was reported that Russia had proposed exploring the possibility of introducing special insurance for users of personal mobility equipment (SIM), including electric scooters, which would operate on the principle of CTP, but would be voluntary.
