A criminal case has been opened in the Irkutsk Region over the embezzlement of more than 65 million rubles by entrepreneurs, including six men and one woman. This was reported on August 28 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.
According to the investigation, in the period from 2021 to 2023, the defendants, being on the board of directors of the plant for the production of test strips and blood sugar control systems, organized the preparation of fictitious documents on the supply of products to controlled companies at an undervalued price. However, the goods were sold to other persons at the market price, while the attackers appropriated the difference in funds for themselves.
The ministry clarified that investigative actions against the detained defendants are currently ongoing. Searches are also conducted at the places of residence of entrepreneurs. Four men have been charged with the crime.
It is noted that criminal liability is provided for under Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code ("Abuse of authority"), part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud on an especially large scale").
On August 27, three residents of Tatarstan were accused of stealing 1.1 billion rubles from members of a housing cooperative. So, from 2004 to 2020, the defendants stole the funds of 1985 citizens under various pretexts: the conclusion of agreements on joining the cooperative, the payment of entrance fees, membership fees and other payments, the purchase of housing for cooperative members.
