Several concert-goers at Crocus City Hall left the hall a few minutes before the terrorist attack and thus escaped. This was announced on August 28 by one of the participants in the trial.

"Several concert—goers who appeared in court as victims or witnesses said they had miraculously escaped - someone went out for a smoke break before the concert, someone to breathe, someone to get water," RIA Novosti quoted the participant as saying.

In addition, one of the interviewees added that at the moment when he was on the street, the terrorists ran past him. He clarified that he did not return to the concert hall after that.
