Following the results of the Champions League qualification play-off matches held on Wednesday, August 27, all the teams that qualified for the main round of the 2025/2026 season tournament became known.

The teams Qarabag (Azerbaijan), Benfica (Portugal), Brugge (Belgium) and Copenhagen (Denmark) won their matches on August 27, thereby advancing to the group stage of the tournament.

The day before, the last three football clubs (FC) were added to them: Bude-Glimt (Norway), Kairat (Kazakhstan) and Paphos (Cyprus).

The draw for the Champions League group stage is scheduled for August 28. The tournament is scheduled to start on September 16. In the group stage, each team will play eight matches, four at home and four away.

The tournament will consist of a general table for all 36 teams. Based on the results of the first eight rounds, a playoff grid is formed: the top eight teams automatically qualify for the 1/8 finals, and the teams ranked ninth through 24th play an additional round to determine the remaining participants.

On August 26, Kairat defeated Scottish Celtic in the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League qualification and secured their participation in the group stage of the tournament for the first time. It was clarified that the game ended with a score of 3:2 in a penalty shootout.
