A resident of Kuban was sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony for treason
A resident of the Timashevsky district of the Krasnodar Territory was sentenced to 13 years in a high-security penal colony for passing information about Russian military facilities to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). This was announced on August 27 by the joint press service of the regional courts.
It was established that in June 2024, he established contact with the supervisor of the SBU and agreed to carry out his tasks, in particular, to transmit information about the location of military facilities in Russia. His activities were stopped by employees of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Krasnodar Territory.
The defendant is charged under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason"). He fully admitted his guilt.
"The court sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 13 years and 1 month, with restriction of liberty for a term of one year. The convict should serve his sentence in a high—security colony," the Telegram channel says.
Earlier, on July 18, a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region, recruited by the special services of Ukraine, was sentenced to 11 years in a general regime penal colony in a case of treason. It was clarified that the criminal was the administrator of a large Telegram channel, in which he posted publications calling for joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In 2022, Nizhny Novgorod agreed to cooperate with the special services of Ukraine.
