Ex-Bosch factory in Russia started production of spark plugs under a new brand

Cordiant Holding has announced the launch of the Cordiant umbrella brand for spark plugs, which were manufactured under the Bosch brand in Engels, Saratov Region, until April 2023. This is stated in the company's message, which was received by Izvestia on August 27.

Cordiant spark plugs will continue to be manufactured in Russia at the Engels plant. The capacity of the enterprise is 100 million candles per year. In the spring of 2023, the plant was acquired by S8 Capital Holding as part of a deal with Bosch, and since the summer of 2024 Engels Spark Plugs has been under the management of Cordiant Holding. In the autumn of 2024, together with the assets of the Candle Factory holding, it became part of Severgroup.

The company noted that, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the share of illegal spark plug trafficking reaches about 74%, and in the online segment it exceeds 90%. One of the measures to protect consumers from counterfeiting may be the introduction of digital labeling of products. In August of this year, Engels Spark Plugs, together with the operator of the Honest Sign system, presented the results of an experiment on labeling spark plugs in individual packages.

In addition to five tire companies and a spark plug factory, Cordiant Holding includes plants for the production of plastic components in Dzerzhinsk, pipes for air conditioning and braking systems in Kaluga, and others.
