Sergei Aleksashkin, an artist at the Mariinsky Theatre, has died at the age of 73.

People's Artist of Russia, opera singer Sergei Aleksashkin died at the age of 73, the press service of the Mariinsky Theatre announced on August 27.

"Sergei Nikolaevich Aleksashkin died at the age of 74. The staff of the Mariinsky Theatre expresses its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sergei Nikolaevich, his colleagues and friends," the Telegram channel of the cultural institution says.
