1.6 million students will enroll in Moscow's educational institutions in 2025, and Moscow schools and kindergartens are already ready for the start of the school year. This was announced on August 27 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
"Everything is ready for the new academic year. Schools, kindergartens and colleges will accept over 1.6 million children. About 100 thousand first—graders will sit at their desks," he wrote on his channel in the MAX messenger.
According to Sobyanin, more than 1.2 thousand buildings of various educational institutions were repaired in the summer, and 51 schools were renovated as part of the My School educational infrastructure reconstruction program.
In addition, 34 schools and kindergartens were built, which will accommodate over 14 thousand schoolchildren and 4.5 thousand preschoolers. They will be opened on September 1 of this year. The mayor also added that 64 territories of educational institutions have been improved.
On August 26, Russian Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov said that schools, colleges and kindergartens in the Russian Federation are ready for the start of the school year, and educational institutions have already passed the necessary inspections by relevant agencies. According to him, it is important that the requirements for ensuring the safety of schoolchildren are met.
