Ukraine will not be able to join the European Union (EU) because the Kiev regime has made the perpetrators of the Volyn massacre national heroes. This was announced on August 27 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the International organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov.

He commented on the statement by Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, who noted that Ukraine has no chance of joining the EU until it resolves the issue of the Volyn massacre.

"The problem is that the Volyn massacre was committed by Bandera, who are now officially national heroes of Ukraine," Ulyanov wrote on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Earlier, on July 31, Polish President Karol Nawrocki held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky and demanded a change in approach to the issues of common history that are important to Poles. During the talks, the Polish leader stressed that historical issues will continue to be the subject of discussions with Zelensky in the future.

Prior to that, on June 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned Poland's decision to grant state status to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Volyn massacre. It was noted that the Polish Parliament almost unanimously supported the initiative to introduce a memorable date on July 11 as the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the events of 1943.
