Due to the alleged threat from Iran, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, is guarded around the clock by an elite unit of the Austrian special services. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on August 26, citing sources.

"An elite unit of Austria's security services is protecting Grossi after the country's intelligence agency received information about a threat to the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency from a third party," the article says.

After receiving specific threats against Grossi, the Austrian authorities increased his security by deploying the Cobra anti-terrorist unit. According to the WSJ, Grossi is now being escorted around the clock by armed officers with machine guns and at least two armored vehicles.

Grossi announced on July 25 that Iran is ready to resume negotiations on the nuclear program at the technical level with the IAEA. It is clarified that the IAEA expressed the need to obtain permission to resume the inspection after the Israeli and US airstrikes.
