Moscow will create 15 modern recreation areas by the water. This was announced on Tuesday, August 26, according to the website of the Moscow City Hall.
The work will be completed by the summer season of 2026. New beach areas will be built on Golovinsky, Angarsky, Dzhamgarovsky, Dolgikh, Golyanovsky, Perovsky, Vladimirsky, Biryulevsky, Chernevsky, Yasenevsky, Ochakovsky, Udaltsovsky, Solntsevsky ponds, as well as in the Zarechye zone on the Desna River, the Moscow City News agency reports.
There will be decking with sun loungers, strips of white sand, gazebos, swings and hammocks, playgrounds and even swimming pools. Changing rooms, showers, bathrooms, cafes, paths, lighting and picnic areas are being equipped for the convenience of citizens.
Special attention will be paid to sports: playgrounds for workout and volleyball are planned. Video surveillance, warning systems and rescue towers will ensure security. An example is the Pioneer Pond in Gorky Park, which has already been transformed into a resort area, writes Moscow 24.
