Passengers of the Air China plane that landed in Nizhnevartovsk were picked up by a backup board

The passengers of the London — Beijing flight of Air China Airlines were picked up from Nizhnevartovsk by the reserve board of the Boeing 777 of the Chinese carrier. This was announced on August 26 by the representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency Artem Korenyako.

"At 19:22 Moscow time, the reserve Boeing 777 aircraft of the Chinese carrier took off from Nizhnevartovsk in the direction of China," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to him, the passengers stayed in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug for 13 hours. It is specified that at Nizhnevartovsk airport passengers were accommodated in the terminal of international lines. Cots with bed linen were also delivered from the city to elderly citizens and children.

Earlier that day, an Air China plane en route from London to Beijing landed unscheduled at Nizhnevartovsk Airport in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. There were no casualties as a result of the unscheduled landing of the aircraft. Korenyako named a malfunction of one of the engines as the preliminary reason for the unscheduled landing.

The passengers were transferred to the international terminal of Nizhnevartovsk Airport. Ruslan Kuharuka, the governor of the region, instructed to provide hot meals and drinks to the passengers and crew of the flight.
