Four civilians were killed, one was injured and one was missing as a result of an attack by armed men in northern Côte d'Ivoire near the border with Burkina Faso. The Fraternité Matin newspaper reported this on August 26.

"The assault, which took place around 2 a.m., was aimed at a village where crops are grown. Having sounded the alarm, Ivorian forces from the Northern Operational Zone immediately deployed air and ground assets to ensure security in the area and provide assistance to the population," the newspaper said.

According to the report, four citizens were killed and one resident was missing. Another woman suffered burns and is receiving medical attention.

Earlier, on July 30, about 50 soldiers were killed in an attack by armed militants from the Jamaat Nasr al-Islam Wal Muslimin group (recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization and banned) on a military base in Burkina Faso. About 100 militants were involved in the attack, which after the attack looted and burned the base.
