The European Union (EU) condemns the strikes by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on the Nasser Hospital in Gaza. This was announced on August 26 by the diplomatic service of the association.

"The murder yesterday (August 25. — Ed.) in Gaza, five journalists, four health workers and several civilians as a result of the Israeli strike on the Nasser hospital <...> is completely unacceptable," the publication says on the website.

It is emphasized that civilians and journalists must be protected in accordance with international law. In addition, the European Union called on Israel to comply with international humanitarian law and ensure that the attacks are investigated.

Israel carried out an airstrike on the emergency room of Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip on August 25. The IDF confirmed the attack. Initially, four media representatives were reported dead. Later it became known about the death of the fifth journalist. The total number of victims reached 20 people. On the evening of the same day, US President Donald Trump condemned the Israeli attack on the hospital, calling the incident a terrible thing.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, expressed regret over the "tragic incident" at Nasser Hospital, which killed five journalists. He clarified that the authorities are conducting an investigation.
