A painting by Italian artist Vittore Giuseppe Ghislandi, stolen by the Nazis during World War II, has been discovered in Argentina. This was reported on August 25 by the newspaper Het Parool with reference to the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency.

The "Portrait of a Lady" by Vittore Ghislandi from the Jewish collection of the Jacques Goudsticker art dealership was found in the living room of the home of the daughter of a high-ranking Nazi official in Argentina. The painting was stolen by Friedrich Kagin, and the last time the artwork was seen in Switzerland was in 1946.

The woman put the house up for sale — that's how the painting was discovered. Research by critics and the Rotterdam newspaper Algemeen Dagblad confirms the identification of the canvas. Jacques Goudsticker's heirs plan to claim the painting.

On September 24, 2023, it became known. An unknown painting by Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi has been discovered in the Royal Collection at the Hampton Court Country Palace near London. The painting has been in storage at Hampton Court Palace for more than 100 years after it was mistakenly attributed to an unknown French artist.
