At least a hundred firefighters were involved in extinguishing a warehouse fire in the port area of Hamburg, which injured three people. This was announced on August 25 by the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) broadcasting company.
"Hundreds of firefighters have been fighting a large fire at several warehouses in the Weddel district of Hamburg since Monday afternoon. <...> According to the fire service, three people were injured," the material says.
It is specified that the process of extinguishing the fire was hampered by multiple explosions of gas cylinders recorded throughout the day. According to available information, 25 people were evacuated from the area, some of them were taken to a safe place on boats.
Earlier in the day, the Bild newspaper reported that a fire had started as a result of explosions at a warehouse in Hamburg. It became known that the police completely blocked traffic on the A1 highway due to metal parts flying in all directions.
