A rabid raccoon dog attacked a man in the Amur region

Rabies quarantine was introduced in the Belogorsky district of the Amur region. A sick raccoon dog bit a man.

The incident occurred in the village of Nikolskoye. According to PriamurMedia news agency, a wild animal entered a private yard at night and began chasing a domestic cat. When a local resident came out to the noise, the dog attacked him and bit him several times.

The aggressive animal was eliminated, and the laboratory confirmed that the raccoon-like dog was infected with rabies. The cat has been vaccinated again and is under the supervision of veterinarians. The owner of the farmstead is undergoing a course of vaccination.

In early August, a case of rabies was detected in the village of Vozzhayevka. The disease was confirmed in a fox.
