The military personnel of the Vostok group told about the liberation of Novogeorgievka
The guards of the 57th separate motorized Rifle brigade of the 5th army of the Vostok group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novogeorgievka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was announced on August 25 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is specified that the servicemen moved in small groups and consistently cleared the forest belts closest to the village. After the liberation of the village, the fighters found a lot of trophies left by the enemy.
"We come across mostly Polish machine guns, as well as M4 [submachine guns], Italian sniper rifles, and American-made grenades. Then Javelin [complexes], rarely, but still come across. Well, the shells, the mortars are Polish 60-caliber," said the commander of the unit with the call sign Stepa.
He added that during the sweeps of fortified areas and dugouts, it is sometimes possible to detect Ukrainian radio stations there, which makes it possible to track enemy messages. Such radio intercepts were carried out, among other things, during the liberation of Novogeorgievka. Speech in English and Polish was repeatedly seen on the radio.
On August 20, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Sukhetskoye, Pankovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the village of Novogeorgievka. It was noted that in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 220 militants during the day.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense showed footage of the liberation of the village. After the liberation of the village, engineering and sapper units began clearing the area of explosive objects.
