Russian and Chinese ships have completed joint patrols in the Pacific Ocean.
Ships of the Russian Navy and the Naval Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) have completed joint patrols in the Central Pacific Ocean. This was announced on August 25 by the press service of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet).
"In the central Pacific Ocean, the ships have completed anti-submarine missions with deck aircraft flights. After moving to the end point of the planned route, the ships of the two countries followed their courses," the ministry said.
Both sides expressed gratitude to each other for the successful cooperation in carrying out the assigned tasks during the joint patrol.
The joint detachment of warships included the Admiral Tributs Pacific Fleet large anti-submarine ship (BOD), the Shaoxing destroyer and the Qiandaohu integrated supply ship of the Chinese Navy. During the patrol, the group of vessels covered a total of 6 thousand nautical miles (more than 11 thousand km).
The operation was the fifth joint patrol of the Russian Federation and China in the Asia-Pacific region (APR). For the first time, such a ship following took place in 2021.
Earlier, on August 21, the crew of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov of the Pacific Fleet of Russia fired high-precision Kalibr and Uran cruise missiles in the Sea of Japan. As a result, the naval target assigned as part of the training was hit.
