A march is taking place in Moldova on August 24 in honor of the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the country from fascism.

According to correspondent Vasily Moiseenko, thousands of people are marching down Chisinau Street to the Eternity Memorial to honor the memory of those who fought against fascism and lay flowers at the Eternal Flame.

"Moldova remembers this date, and despite all the difficulties, despite the fact that the authorities are trying to ban marches, ban Victory Day, we went to the Victory March in Chisinau today, thousands of people joined. This once again shows that Moldova remembers and will always honor our winners. We will not allow history to be revised," said former Moldovan President Igor Dodon.

According to Vyacheslav Perzhu, chairman of the Public Council of Moldova, practically all the people of the republic show the very essence of unity in the name of peace in this holiday.

On March 23, it was reported that residents of the town of Drokia in the north of the Republic of Moldova solemnly celebrated the 81st anniversary of liberation from fascism. The event included a procession, a concert program, the laying of a flower at the monument to the soldiers-liberators, as well as the "Candle of Memory" campaign.
