The investigation will ask the court to arrest blogger Arsen Margaryan. This was reported on August 23 in the Telegram channel of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

"On Monday, the investigation intends to petition the Tagansky District Court of Moscow to choose a preventive measure against him in the form of detention," the statement said.

It is clarified that the investigators charged the blogger in accordance with Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland committed using mass media or information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet"). During the interrogation, Markarian pleaded not guilty to the crime.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation informed about the blogger's detention earlier that day. According to the agency, Markarian posted a video on one of the video hosting sites containing insults to the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland. It was later reported that he was taken to the investigation department.

On March 16, it was reported that a pre-investigation check had been launched against the blogger after his statements calling for terrorism. Markarian stated that attacks on Russian facilities and civilians should be carried out using drones.
