Details of the sabotage on the Nord Streams were revealed in Germany
The saboteurs planted at least four explosive devices on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines. This was reported by ARD TV channel on August 23.
"The alleged saboteurs placed at least four explosive devices weighing from 14 to 27 kg each on the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines at a depth of approximately 70-80 m," the publication says.
It is noted that the bombs allegedly consisted of a mixture of rdx and octogen and were equipped with delayed-action fuses.
The arrest warrant for Ukrainian citizen Sergei Kuznetsov, who was detained in Italy on suspicion of involvement in the Nord Stream bombing, states that he led a sabotage group consisting of seven people.
On August 21, Italian police officers detained Ukrainian Sergey K. on a warrant from Germany in connection with the attack on the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The German prosecutor's office stressed that the man was allegedly one of the coordinators of the operation.
On November 30, 2024, the German Prosecutor General's Office identified two suspects in the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream–2 gas pipelines. Prior to that, on October 4, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, stated the need to investigate the terrorist attack against the joint venture with special care.
At the end of September 2022, damage was recorded on three lines of the Nord Stream and the non–commissioned Nord Stream-2. Bjorn Lund, a representative of the Swedish seismic center, said that two powerful underwater explosions were registered in the area of pipeline leaks at the time of the emergency. After that, traces of explosives were found at the accident site.
