Sea buckthorn contains a large amount of vitamins C, A and E, which helps strengthen the immune system, as well as has a beneficial effect on skin health and eyesight. She told about it in an interview with Gazeta.En" nutritionist Ekaterina Guzman on Saturday, August 23.

"Sea buckthorn is one of the leaders in vitamin C content, which strengthens the immune system, protects cells from free radical damage and participates in collagen synthesis. It contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B9, necessary for the normal functioning of the nervous system, energy metabolism and hematopoiesis. Vitamins E, A, carotenoids, fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6, omega-9), trace elements (iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus), flavonoids," the specialist listed.

According to Guzman, the introduction of sea buckthorn into the diet can increase the body's resistance to colds and other infectious diseases. In addition, the benefits of these berries are manifested in the accelerated healing of wounds, burns and other skin lesions.

"It reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood, improves the elasticity of blood vessels and prevents the formation of blood clots. It has an anti—inflammatory and wound healing effect in case of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, improves digestion," the nutritionist noted.

In addition, sea buckthorn has a beneficial effect on vision. This berry is a natural antioxidant, which protects cells from free radical damage and prevents premature aging. The use of sea buckthorn prevents damage to the retina of the eye and promotes the speedy healing of stomatitis, gingivitis and other diseases of the oral cavity, Guzman concluded.
