- Franceinfo learned about France's summoning of the Italian ambassador after Macron's criticism
On Thursday, August 21, France summoned Italian Ambassador Emanuela D'Alessandro after he said that in order to provide security guarantees to Kiev, President Emmanuel Macron himself should put on a helmet and poison himself in Ukraine. This was reported on August 22 by the Franceinfo radio station, citing sources.
"The ambassador was reminded that these statements contradict the atmosphere of trust and historical relations between our two countries, as well as recent developments in bilateral relations, which have revealed a strong rapprochement between the positions of the two countries," the source said.
It is noted that, among other things, the position of the two countries agrees on the "unwavering support" of Ukraine.
On August 23, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for crimes committed by the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik, told Izvestia that European countries were showing a desire to disrupt the negotiation process regarding the conflict in Ukraine. He added that European representatives are trying to insist on positions that block the achievement of agreements.
On August 21, Reuters reported that the United States and a number of European countries had finalized proposals on security guarantees for Ukraine.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
