On August 22, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the republic would fight only in the event of an attack on it.

"We will fight only in one case — if someone attacks us. Then we will fight with all possible and impossible methods," the Telegram channel Pool One, close to the president's press service, quotes him as saying.
