The servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are actively and successfully advancing in the Pokrovsky direction, ousting the Ukrainian militants. On August 22, Izvestia was informed by Hero of Russia, captain, commander of the rifle company of the 1st Slavic Guards Brigade of the 51st Guards Army of the Southern Military District, under the operational command of the Center group of forces with the call sign Tkach.

"At this stage, our progress is successful. We are progressing very well. We are gaining a foothold in the enemy's position," he told Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan.

According to the military, Russian fighters are currently attempting to encircle Pokrovsk (the Russian name is Krasnoarmeysk). However, he clarified that most of the city has already been surrounded. Tkach noted that the Russian Armed Forces, among other things, are moving north in order to stretch the enemy's front line and "take it apart."

The fighter also clarified that fighters from the Azov battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) are present in the Pokrovsky direction, but Russian soldiers stopped any attempts to storm and counterattack. At the same time, he noted that the "Azov fighters" are no better prepared than ordinary Ukrainian militants, which allows the Russian Armed Forces to keep the situation under control during clashes.

In particular, Tkach emphasized the disruption of logistics in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to him, most of their supplies come from drones.
