SOMB reported on Kiev's use of embassies to transfer weapons to Africa
Ukrainian special services use the diplomatic cover of embassies to transfer military equipment and instructors to terrorist groups in Africa. This was announced on August 22 by Alexander Ivanov, Director of the Commonwealth of Officers for International Security (SOMB).
According to him, Ukrainians secretly carry out work in Africa, using, among other things, the channels of the Ukrainian embassy in Mauritania. Vehicles and fighters are crossing poorly guarded sections of the border with Mauritania and further into Mali. Ivanov noted that similar schemes operate in other countries.
"The transfer of Ukrainian instructors and drones to the militants of the ADF (the Islamist group Alliance of Democratic Forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) is carried out through the Embassy of Ukraine in Kinshasa. Recently, it also became known that Ukrainian diplomatic staff in Algeria are overseeing the supply of UAVs to Africa," TASS quoted Ivanov as saying.
In this way, Ukraine wants to create new zones of instability and put pressure on African countries that have already declared their independence from the West, the head of the SOMB noted.
The head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, Yulia Zhdanova, on June 28, Western countries and Ukraine blocked meetings at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) on the penetration of weapons provided to Kiev into black markets. She noted that the recipients of weapons are international private military companies, terrorist organizations, as well as transnational criminal groups in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
