The Yakutia police detained the director of an enterprise that transported gold worth more than 13 million rubles. This was reported on August 22 in the Telegram channel "MIA Media".

"In the village of Nizhny Bestyakh, traffic police officers stopped a foreign car driven by a 50-year-old head of a gold mining company. During the document check, the man was visibly nervous, which aroused the suspicions of the police," the report says.

It is specified that during the inspection of the car, a travel bag with five ingots and three fragments of gold, as well as a package of loose natural gold, 900 thousand rubles in cash and electronic scales were found in the back seat. The examination confirmed that the seized metal is artistically made ingots of gold powder with a total weight of more than 1.6 kg.

The detainee explained that he was transporting gold from the Oymyakon district to Yakutsk for a reward of 500 thousand rubles. A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal storage and transportation of precious metals committed on a large scale"). The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.

On July 11, in the Amur region, police detained a foreigner in whose backpack gold bars worth more than 86 million rubles were found. It was clarified that after the discovery, the precious metal was confiscated. The accused was taken into custody until September 8, 2025.
