Eight people accused of corruption activities were detained in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. This was announced on August 22 by the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF).

"In the period from July 25, 2021 to March 29, 2025, officials of the transport organization <...> received bribes from commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs for general patronage and connivance in the service <...> to the balance of the Vladivostok Regional Communications Center for the construction of power supply and communication networks at transport infrastructure facilities," it said. in a message on the Telegram channel of the department.

It is noted that in fact the work was carried out by subordinates of officials, and corrupt officials did not take part in the work. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 4.3 million rubles.

A number of criminal cases were initiated on this fact under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving large and especially large bribes by officials") and Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Giving large and especially large bribes").

Earlier, on July 11, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation filed a lawsuit for 924 million rubles against the deputy governor of the Belgorod region Rustem Zainullin and several others accused of fraud during the construction of fortifications on the border with Ukraine. It is clarified that the defendants in the case are accused of fraud with funds allocated for construction. A total of 19.5 billion rubles were allocated from the state budget to the persons named in the lawsuit for the construction of fortifications. At the same time, the companies involved in the scheme, LLC Region Siberia and LLC Stroyinvestreserv, did not fulfill their obligations.
