When encountering a moose in the city, it is important to keep your distance and not try to approach it, either to drive it away or to feed it. This was stated by Jose Antonio Hernandez-Blanco, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher at the Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPEE RAS).

"A moose is a large animal that values personal space. It is worth remembering that, once near the road, moose feel insecure and tense. Therefore, while driving, try to slow down and be careful if you see a sign of moose crossing, especially at dawn and dusk, when they are most active," the specialist said in an interview with the Moscow City News agency on Thursday, August 21.

According to him, it is safest to observe moose from a distance — you can use binoculars or a zoom camera for this, the website clarifies. kp.ru . It is also important to keep dogs on a leash so that they do not provoke the animal, writes Moscow 24.

Earlier it was reported that two moose were spotted on the Entuziastov Highway in Moscow. They quickly left the road and went to the lawn. Svetlana Akulova, director of the Moscow zoo, recalled that in August the moose begin their rutting period: at this time they become more anxious, less cautious and can behave aggressively.
