The human rights organization Democracy Restored has filed a complaint against former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with the Arkansas State Bar Association and asked them to verify her involvement in the alleged "Russian interference" in the 2016 United States presidential election. This was reported on August 20 by the Fox News channel.

According to the newspaper, recent declassified documents published by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary say that Clinton allegedly approved her adviser's plan to disseminate false information to "denigrate" the head of the current US administration, Donald Trump.

"These data require a long—overdue verification of Clinton's suitability for membership in the Arkansas Bar Association," the broadcaster reports the text of the complaint.

According to the document, Clinton's actions may fall under the rules of professional ethics, which relate to "dishonesty" and "prejudice to justice."

On August 1, Trump announced that Hillary Clinton and former President of the United States Barack Obama should pay for the scandal related to Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 White House presidential election. The American leader also called the incident one of the great scandals in the history of the United States.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), on July 23 called Russia's alleged interference in the US elections false and stressed that the American media did not intend to modernize the media system.
