The ticks will remain active in the forests near Moscow until November. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management of the Moscow Region on Thursday, August 21.
"Forests, fields, parks and gardens near Moscow remain a risk zone for ticks carrying dangerous diseases such as tick—borne encephalitis and borreliosis. Their activity persists until November, and their favorite habitats are moist and shady areas," the Moscow City News Agency quoted Vitaly Mosin, Minister of Ecology and Nature Management of the Moscow region.
The department called on residents of the region to wear closed clothes, use repellents, and also examine themselves and pets after a walk.
