The introduction of new programs in Russian driving schools has been postponed for six months

The old driving school training programs will be in effect for at least another six months. The relevant order of the Ministry of Education was approved by the Ministry of Justice, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. It was planned that they would enter into force on September 1 of this year, but the changes have not been approved.

The new programs, in particular, offered to conduct a number of classes in driving schools remotely. It is envisaged that in order to prepare for obtaining a bus category license, you will not need to retrain and retraining will be sufficient, since this category is allowed only if you have experience driving a car or truck. It is also planned to introduce the possibility of training drivers in fleets.

Despite the fact that each driving school prepares its own methods and driver training programs, they must be implemented based on the programs of the Ministry of Education. Compliance is regularly monitored by the State Traffic Inspectorate.

On June 10, the State Duma at its plenary session adopted in the first reading a government bill on assessing the quality of driving schools. According to the document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will develop a "list of indicators, criteria and frequency of performance assessment" for driving schools. The data is planned to be posted on a special resource that will be publicly available and regularly updated.
