Professional sports such as bodybuilding can be harmful to heart health. About this on August 21, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by the head of the Department of Sports Medicine and Medical Rehabilitation, Director of the Sechenov University Medical Rehabilitation Clinic, Professor Evgeny Achkasov.

According to the expert, an increase in muscle volume affects the heart load.

"In people with large muscle volume, the heart may not be able to cope. There is a discrepancy between the volume of muscles and the capabilities of the heart," Achkasov explained.

Therefore, the doctor recommended to engage in amateur sports aimed at preventing diseases. To do this, the specialist recommended that you undergo an examination and set an acceptable load limit so as not to overdo it and not harm yourself.

Earlier, on July 30, Kirill Antonov, senior instructor and methodologist at the Department of Restorative Medicine of JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), spoke about the effectiveness of outdoor training. The expert noted that the main advantage of outdoor training is increased oxygen saturation of the body. This enhances redox processes and accelerates recovery after exercise. Regular outdoor activities normalize sleep and stabilize the mental state.
