Ukrainian saboteur: the explosion of the bridge near Bryansk in May was carried out by the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A detained Ukrainian saboteur reported that the bombing of a road bridge in the Bryansk region, which collapsed on a passenger train, was carried out by a group of military Special Operations Forces (SSF). The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was stated on August 20 by one of the saboteurs in a video distributed by the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia.

"The mining and detonation of the automobile bridge in May 2025 was carried out by a group that is the military of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine," said Alexander Zhuk, commander of the sabotage and reconnaissance group of the MTR of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He added that the commander of that group was Captain Maxim Soloshak with the call sign Fox.

In addition, the commander of the group admitted that in September 2024, saboteurs participated in the bombing of a railway track in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region.

The suppression of the activities of a sabotage group in the Bryansk region was reported earlier that day. It was clarified that three more members of the DRG were eliminated during the arrest. The saboteurs found Western small arms, a large number of grenades and communications equipment. The Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service for the Bryansk region opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 281 ("Preparation for sabotage") The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
