Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of Emigrants of Jordan Ayman Safadi signed an agreement on the mutual abolition of visas for tourists during their meeting on August 20.

It is specified that the agreement provides for exemption from visa requirements for tourist trips for a period of no more than 30 days, and the total period of such stay should not exceed 90 days during the year.

In addition, Lavrov expressed the hope that King Abdullah II of Jordan would be able to participate in the first Russian-Arab summit in October.

"We have noted the high dynamics of our political dialogue, and we hope that His Majesty the King of Jordan will be able to participate in the first Russian-Arab summit in October," the Russian Foreign Minister said.

He also added that the Russian side greatly appreciates the trusting relations between the Russian Federation and Jordan.

Nikita Kondratiev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects at the Ministry of Economic Development (MAYOR) of the Russian Federation, said on June 23 that Russia was considering an initiative to deny visas to Myanmar, Jordan and Bahrain this year.
