A draft law on securing the right of parents to take a day off on September 1 will be submitted to the State Duma.

Deputies from the New People party will submit to the State Duma a bill that will consolidate the right of parents of schoolchildren to take a day off on September 1.

"It is proposed to legislate the right of parents (guardians, foster parents) to take a day off on September 1 to accompany their child to school at the beginning of the school year," the explanatory note to the bill says. Her text is quoted by RIA Novosti.

It is noted that the authors were deputies from the New People party. According to the document, refusal of leave on September 1 will be considered a violation of labor standards.

The parliamentarians clarified that this initiative is aimed at strengthening family ties and parental involvement in the educational process.
